If the last IPL season for Chennai Super Kings was bad, the 2021 edition started off on a horrible note. Delhi Capitals thrashed the men in yellow by 7 wickets and sent out a loud message for the other teams. Rishabh Pant was spot on from the word go and put CSK into bat. Suresh Raina proved that he has still got it as he returned with a bang. Mr. IPL smashed a half-century, but it was Sam Curran's fiery 15-ball-34 that helped CSK finish at 188/7. Chasing which, Delhi openers went berserk. Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan toyed with Chennai bowlers and smashed a half-century each. Though both departed but the job was already done. Delhi won with 8 balls to spare and registered their 3rd consecutive win over CSK.
