Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy on Wednesday unveiled a phoenix-themed memorial for former state Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa at Marina Beach in Chennai. The memorial was inaugurated three years after the foundation stone was laid. Amid slogans hailing the former AIADMK supremo, Palanisami inaugurated the memorial as Panneerselvam and Assembly Speaker P Dhanapal joined him. The three later paid floral tributes, with Palaniswami and Panneerselvam prostrating at the spot, where she was laid to rest after her death on December 5, 2016.
