The Delhi Police has filed an FIR against farmer leaders for allegedly violating the terms of the no objection certificate issued to them for holding the tractor rally on Republic Day. The leaders named in the FIR are Darshan Pal, Rajinder Singh, Balbir Singh Rajewal, Buta Singh Burjgil, Joginder Singh Ugraha and Rakesh Tikait. The Delhi Police claims the farmers started the rally well ahead of the time given to them and also deviated from the pre-decided route. While the police claims farmers resorted to violence, broke barricades and attacked policemen, the farmer unions have said that the people who indulged in violence were not a part of their tractor parade.
The Delhi Police has registered 22 FIRs so far in connection with the violence that broke out during the farmers' tractor parade in the national capital, officials said on Wednesday.
