Farm leader Rakesh Tikait's tears seem to have turned the tables. The UP govt that gave an ultimatum to farmers sitting on Ghazipur border has taken a step back and withdrawn extra force it had deployed to evict the protesters. Tikait's emotional outburst on Thursday night has triggered a wave of tractors carrying farmers from Western UP and Haryana coming to join the protests. By Friday morning, the number of protesters at Ghazipur border swelled considerably and more are on their way. The UP administration had also cut off power and water supply to the hundreds of farmers, who have been camping out on the roads. Power and water supply was restored on Friday morning.
