In a clear warning to China, the Indian Army has said that we are no longer the Army of 1962. Head of Eastern Army Command Lieutenant General MM Naravane has said that when China says, 'don't forget history', we've to also tell them the same thing. Lieutenant General Naravane added that he doesn't see 1962 as a black spot on the Army at all as all Army units fought well.
"We are no longer the Army of 1962 and if China says, 'don't forget history', we've to also tell them the same thing. I would also like to put forward a different view point- it was not a military debacle at all, it was a political debacle. All Army units fought well, did their assigned tasks. When they were told to stand and fight, they acquitted themselves with great honor. I don't see 1962 as a black mark on the Army at all", said Lieutenant General Naravane.
