Moreover, the 26-year-old is now the first Austrian to reach the final of the first Grand Slam of the year. After a slow start and two tie-breaks, Thiem took over the 7th seed and beat him 3-6, 6-4, 7-6, 7-6. Thiem will face World No. 2 and defending champion Novak Djokovic in the final showdown on Sunday.
