As a part of rebranding, The Netherlands is all set to drop 'Holland' as its nickname. The two names are usually used interchangibly but from 2020, Holland will officially be removed from all marketing materials and literature. Previously, the Dutch tulip and the word Holland was used as the logo for The Netherlands's Board of Tourism and Conventions. Now, it'll include the initials NL with an orange tulip. Holland only represents two of the 12 provinces and the new decision aims to promote more sustainable travel as it battles overtourism and comes ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest to be held in the Netherlands.
