The Moon might be much older than our previous estimates. A new research suggests that the Moon was formed just 50 million years after the solar system came into a being. Researchers from the University of Cologne believe that the Moon is about 4.51 billion years old, while previous research approximated the lunar body to be 100 million years younger. The new research has been published approximately 50 years after the first person ever walked on the Moon's surface. The researchers used chemical signatures collected from the celestial body through different Apollo missions.
