Elon Musk is a man of many talents. When he's not busy with making space travel accessible or driver-less cars, he seems to be working on taking humanity to the next level!

Space X and Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that his company is now working on a humanoid robot, and the prototype will be built sometime next year.

The humanoid robot, which is called the Tesla Bot, will use most of the tools that are used in Tesla vehicles such as sensors, cameras and various other tools to navigate the outside world.

Tesla’s humanoid robot will bear the height of an average human. It is going to be 5 foot 8 inches tall. But, in place of a face, there will be a screen. Not just that, it would weigh around 125 pounds and will be capable of moving at 5mph.

The Tesla website has already listed the robot. It says that the humanoid robot will be capable of performing tasks that are "unsafe, repetitive or boring".

Tesla is using mechanical, electrical, controls that engineers have built for his automobile company to help leverage AI expertise beyond their vehicle fleet.

Tesla is already the world’s biggest robotics company, and Musk feels that building a robot is a logical next step.

The humanoid robot which Tesla is working on could replace physical labour, as it can be used for household chores, which human beings essentially cringe at.

Elon Musk says the humanoid robot will change the future of work, essentially making physical work a choice for human beings.

But with AI taking over our lives, concerns and fears are many. Musk says that the robot could be a friend and it should not be looked upon as something “dystopian”.

Well, here's to an exciting future!
