The Income Tax Department found income discrepancies worth ₹650 crore after raids on actor Taapsee Pannu and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, after 2 days of searches in Mumbai and Pune.
Officials say they have recovered 'evidence' of cash receipts by Taapsee, amounting to ₹5 crore. After raiding Anurag Kashyap’s house in Mumbai, I-T officials say they have found bogus expenditures leading to cash discrepancies worth ₹20 crore.
The raids were conducted at 28 premises including offices of Phantom Films, Reliance Entertainment, Taapsee Pannu's home, Kwan Talent Management and Exceed Entertainment offices in various cities.
Reports say Anurag Kashyap, Taapsee Pannu and others may be called in for questioning.
