Stating that the government&rsquo;s priority is to save both lives and livelihoods, the Jharkhand government Tuesday announced a weeklong lockdown in the state starting April 22 with certain relaxations.&nbsp; All shops will be shut barring those providing essential services. Announcing the lockdown, CM Hemant&nbsp;Soren&nbsp;said only a few central, state sectors and private offices will remain open. However, industries, construction, agricultural and mining activities will continue in the state.

The Supreme Court on Friday granted interim protection from arrest to Amazon Prime Video's India head Aparna Purohit in connection with the ongoing investigation against the video streaming platform's web series 'Tandav'. Reports are the Apex Court of India asked&nbsp;Purohit to co-operate in the ongoing investigation. Reportedly&nbsp;Aparna&nbsp;Purohit&nbsp;approached the Supreme Court after Allahabad high court had denied her anticipatory bail.

The Supreme Court on Friday granted interim protection from arrest to Amazon Prime Video's India head Aparna Purohit in FIRs lodged over web series 'Tandav.' The apex court also issued notice to the Uttar Pradesh government on Purohit's plea for anticipatory bail in FIRs on Tandav series. Aparna&nbsp;Purohit&nbsp;had approached the Supreme Court after Allahabad high court had denied her anticipatory bail. The court said the Centre's guidelines on regulating social media do not have any provision for taking appropriate action against digital platforms showing inappropriate content. Amazon executive Aparna Purohit was booked for promoting enmity between different groups, defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion among other charges.
