Taiwan's military hosted its first same-sex weddings on Friday in another landmark for Asia's LGBT community. Two female soldiers married their civilian same-sex partners as nearly 200 couples took part in a mass outdoor wedding ceremony.
Taiwan is the only country in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage. Ever since the legalization last year, some 4,000 couples, with 69% of lesbian couples, have married.
Taiwan's army said including same-sex couples in this year's ceremony reflected its 'enlightened and progressive' attitude.
