While many countries are notching record Covid numbers and are struggling with a second Covid wave, Taiwan has achieved a different kind of record. The country has not seen a single locally transmitted coronavirus case for more than 200 days. Taiwan's last local case came on April 12 and there has been no second wave. On Friday, it reached 201 days without a local case. It has had just 553 confirmed cases, with only seven deaths. Experts say closing borders early and tightly regulating travel along with rigorous contact tracing have ensured Taiwan's win over the virus.
