Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's untimely death by suicide continues to haunt his fans and the movie industry. A year ago on June 14, Sushant was found hanging in his Bandra home, sending the country in a shock. 

In a short yet diverse career, the Bollywood star was part of some memorable roles and will never be forgotten. Here are some SSR’s best roles in Hindi film industry

Kai Po Che! | Netflix 

Sushant Singh Rajput's debut film in 2013 'Kai Po Che!' helped him get noticed as a young actor trying to refine his craft. He played Ishan, a young, failed cricketer who kept his romance with the game alive by coaching young kids. The film was hit and so was SSR with the critics.

MS Dhoni: The Untold Story | Disney+ Hotstar 

The 2nd film on the list also revolves around cricket where Sushant played the role of a lifetime. The subject was India’s World Cup-winning captain and Sushant mastered the craft of walking, talking & batting like MS Dhoni. The film was a superhit and Sushant helped millions of Indians relive the iconic 2011 World Cup triumph.

Detective Byomkesh Bakshy | Amazon Prime Video

Number 3 on this list is a period drama 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshy' which got Sushant a lot of critical acclaim. Playing the iconic fictional character Detective Byomkesh Bakshi, Sushant in just his 3rd film blossomed as an actor. Set in the 1940s, Sushant aced the period drama under the watchful eyes of director Dibakar Banerjee. The film bombed at the box office but earned applause from critics.  

Chhichhore | Disney+ Hotstar 

At number 4 on the list is Sushant Singh Rajput’s college comedy-drama titled 'Chhichhore'. The 2019 film was by far one of the highest-grossing films of Sushant where he played the role of a college student and then a father who dealt with the tough subject of suicide. The movie had a very strong message that 'failure is the first step towards attaining victory'. 

Sonchiriya | Zee5 

The 5th film is 2019 action drama 'Sonchriya'. Sushant aced the character of Lakhan Singh, a dreaded dacoit in the ravines of the Chambal valley. While it got the critic’s attention, the film failed at the box office.

Kedarnath | Zee5

Based on the devastating floods which hit Uttarakhand, 'Kedarnath' starred Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan in lead roles. The film was a love story between a Hindu girl and a Muslim man who face several obstacles from society due to their religion. Their on-screen chemistry was praised by all.

Dil Bechara | Disney+ Hotstar 

The 7th and the final film in this countdown is the last release of Sushant's career, 'Dil Bechara' which is an adaptation of Hollywood movie 'The fault in our stars'. This heartwarming movie which was released after Sushant left the world is bound to bring tears to your eyes. As a tribute to Rajput, the film can be watched for free on Disney+Hotstar.
