Sunni Waqf Board accepts 5-acre plot for Mosque near Ayodhya

Feb 24, 2020 18:18 IST

The Sunni Central Waqf Board has accepted the 5-acres of land allotted to it for the construction of a mosque near Ayodhya, in compliance with the Supreme Court’s verdict last year, in the disputed Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land case. The Board, decided to constitute a trust to build the mosque in Dhannipur, which is at a distance of about 30 km from Ayodhya on the Lucknow-Gorakhpur highway. It will also construct an Indo-Islamic research center, a hospital, and a library on the allotted five-acre land. In November last year, the top Court had passed the judgement paving way for the construction of a Ram Temple at the disputed site at Ayodhya.
