Summer temperature likely to be above normal in most parts: IMD

Mar 02, 2021 11:35 IST | By PTI

If you are upset about sudden spike in temperature in the last few days, brace up for more. Day temperatures are likely to be above normal in north, northeast, parts of east and west India, the India Meteorological Department said on Monday in its summer forecast for March to May. However, it has forecast a likelihood of below normal temperatures in south and the adjoining central India. The IMD has said in the Indo-Gangetic plains -- from Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, east UP, west UP, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand to Odisha -- the temperature is expected to be above normal by more than 0.5 degree Celsius during March to May.
