Students, parents wanted: Nishank on NEET-JEE amid Covid

Aug 26, 2020 07:46 IST

Defending the govt's move to hold the all-India exams for medical and engineering courses amid the Covid pandemic, education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has said that there was constant pressure from students and parents to conduct the exams. The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology and the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to medical courses are scheduled to be held next month. In an interview to DD News, the minister said that 80 per cent of the students who will appear for JEE have already downloaded admit cards. On reopening schools, Nishank said a decision will be taken based on guidelines given by the Home Ministry and the Health Ministry.
