Stay home for 3 months: UK tells 1.5 million people at risk

Mar 22, 2020 10:33 IST

The British government has announced stronger measures to combat the Covid-19 spread, including the closing of bars, pubs, and restaurants. NHS England plans to write to 1.5 million people most at risk, they will receive letters or text messages strongly advising them not to go out for 12 weeks to protect themselves. Those with underlying health conditions such as bone or blood cancers, cystic fibrosis, or who have had an organ transplant have been advised by health officials to do all they can to shield themselves from the virus, including confining themselves at home for a long period.
