Days away from Republic Day, the decision on where the tractor rally by farmers will be held remains inconclusive. The second round of talks between farmer unions and the Delhi Police ended in no resolution, as farmers continued to demand the permission to hold the tractor rally in Delhi on January 26.
The farmers want the rally on Delhi’s busy outer ring road while the Delhi Police wants them to change the location to Kundli-Manesar-Palwal expressway, outside the national capital. The farmer unions have rejected the proposed route by Delhi Police and insist that their rally in Delhi will be peaceful.
Thousands of farmers have been protesting on Delhi’s borders against the new farm laws, which have been stayed by the Supreme Court till a mutual conclusion is reached.
