The government has failed to construct the Srinagar mini-secretariat at the erstwhile Batamaloo Bus stand here even as the project was floated two years ago. In 2017, PDP-BJP government had announced to construct the mini-secretariat in order to place all the public offices of the summer capital under one umbrella. In January 2018, Mehbooba Mufti, the then Chief Minister, laid the foundation of mini-secretariat building. The administrative complex was supposed to be a state-of-the-art centre, housing many offices of the district and provincial administration. In this regard, the administration shifted the 62-year-old bus stand at Batamaloo which housed around 7000 vehicles to Parimpora disrupting the livelihood of thousands of people. However, the over 100 kanal space still lies vacant as the construction of the mini-secretariat remains halted.
