As the countdown for the Hockey World Cup 2018 ended, the event kicked off with a dazzling opening ceremony in Bhubaneswar. Fireworks lit up the Kalinga stadium as CM Naveen Patnaik took to the podium followed by the captains of all 16 participating teams.
