After NHS England's alert on a rare inflammatory condition in children in the UK that could be linked to the novel coronavirus, the Spanish Association of Pediatrics sent out a video message to calm families. The message was circulated after doctors in Spain, Italy and Britain were warned of the condition in school children, causing abdominal pain along with gastrointestinal symptoms leading to shock and low blood pressure within hours. A member of the SPA said that families need not worry as the inflammatory condition was 'extremely rare and infrequent' adding that treatment was available for children who fell sick. She added that it was not clear if there was a causal relation between the new condition and Covid-19. In Italy too, a member of the Italian Pediatricians Society sent out a note to 10,000 colleagues with the same concerns.
