Jul 20, 2021 20:04 IST | By Editorji News Desk

Stiffness in his back prevented Virat Kohli from leading the team in the 1st practice game vs County XI in Durham on Tuesday. In fact, not just Virat, but his deputy Ajinkya Rahane too was ruled out of the practice game with swelling in his hamstring.

BCCI's medical team is monitoring both the players and they should be available for the 2nd practice game before the long 5-match Test series vs England. Rohit Sharma is currently leading the Indians in the warm-up game while Hanuma Vihari and KL Rahul have been slotted to bat at No.4 and 5 spots respectively.

The 1st Test vs England starts on 4th August in Nottingham and both Virat Kohli & Ajinkya Rahane are expected to play.
