The Test tour of Australia was like a trial by fire for the youngster from Punjab and Shubman now looks like a new Knight with his shining armour forged Down Under. His 259 runs in 6 innings is exactly what many expected from Prithvi Shaw but found it in the 21-year-old who bats without keeping the reputation of the bowlers in mind. His debut in Australia ends the hunt for a Test opener but it will be tough to keep Gill away from walking into India's white-ball squads.
