Shah promised justice, Goyal says Kerala nuns were not attacked in UP

Mar 29, 2021 18:02 IST | By Editorji News Desk

Despite home minister Amit Shah promising actions into the alleged heckling of nuns onboard at train in Uttar Pradesh earlier this month, his cabinet colleague and railway minister Piyush Goyal has now claimed that Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan is ‘completely lying’ about the incident.

Goyal on Monday dismissed allegations that a group of 2 nuns and 2 postulants was not ‘attacked’ in Uttar Pradesh during a train journey. While travelling to Odisha from Delhi on March 19th, they were reportedly heckled by Bajrang Dal members who insisted that the nuns were taking the two women forcibly for religious conversion.

The group was taken off the train and detained and the police found the Bajrang Dal complaint was baseless.
