Ace Tennis star Serena Williams extended her support to her friend Meghan Markle, following her sensational interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Defending her friend, Williams wrote a heart-touching note on Twitter. The American Tennis player said Meghan Markle had taught her what it means to be truly noble, and that she realises how the sexism and racism institutions use to vilify women and people of colour.
The mental health consequences of systemic oppression and victimisation are devastating, isolating and all too often lethal, she added.
The Duchess of Sussex has told Winfrey that she had suicidal thoughts after marrying into royalty and the British royals were concerned about how dark Markle and Prince Harry's son skin might be.
