Sensex rallies 411.38 pts to end at 41,575; Nifty soars 119 pts

Benchmark indices rallied on Friday to close at strong gains. The Sensex climbed 411 points to close at 41,575 while the Nifty rose almost a percent to settle at 12,245 on Friday. Coal India, Axis Bank, BPCL, SBI, Powergrid and ICICI Bank rose by upto 3.5%, contributing to the surge.

For the week, however, both indices ended lower, down 0.2% each.
