A panoramic scene from a village comes to life under this dining table, created by sculptor Ningwon Zingkhai at his home in Dimapur town.
A gurgling stream of water, a church, bridge and people adorn the lifelike creation, lending a realistic appeal. Carved out of a block of wood, it took the master creator almost one year to complete the piece. He spent as much as Rs 1.70 lakhs in the creation.
He has found no buyer for his creation which he priced at 20 lakh rupees. Ningwon, a self-proclaimed potter, carpenter, architect and sculptor spends his time making pots with clay to earn a livelihood.
He now plans to make a landscape with Jesus and his 12 disciples at Phangrei plateau in Ukhrul district.
