The Supreme Court on Monday pulled up the Delhi government and asked them what the logic behind the odd-even scheme was. Justice Arun Mishra asked the counsel for Delhi government, "What are you achieving from the odd-even scheme?" To which the counsel replied, "Diesel consumption is less and there is less pollution in Delhi. People will share vehicles." The judge immediately retorted, "What will you achieve? You are stopping private cars, but autos and taxis can ply... they will ply more and pollute equally. It would make sense if you were saying cars vs buses. The solution is single-person-use vehicles against mass-use vehicles."
