The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued notice to farm unions on the Delhi Police application seeking cancellation of a proposed tractor rally in the Capital on the Republic Day. Citing the threat to law and order on the R-Day, the Delhi Police and the Centre sought the SC intervention in stopping the tractor rally. It stated that the march is slated to disrupt and disturb the Republic Day parade as well as create a lwa and order challenge. The Police argued that the right to protest cannot include the "maligning the nation globally".
