Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has requested the BCCI to take him back as a commentator for the upcoming IPL, scheduled to be played in the UAE from September 19. In a short letter that he has written to the Apex Council members of the board, says that Manjrekar would be happy to work as per the guidelines laid down by the BCCI. A board official told the Times of India that this chapter should now be closed and Manjrekar should be forgiven. He has already apologised for his comments on Jadeja and has also promised the board that he'll stick to the 'code of conduct' for TV commentators. BCCI had removed Manjrekar from its commentary panel in march and the final call on this matter now rests with BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah.
