Once lauded 'Kerala Model' for the containment of deadly coronavirus seems to be falling apart as the southern state recorded 4,644 on Saturday, which is the highest single day surge of Covid-19 cases. This is the third consecutive day that over 4000 cases have been reported from Kerala and the state has so far seen 1,31,025 infections, while the toll mounted to 519 with 18 more deaths. While 4,351 cases were detected on Thursday, 4,167 positive cases were recorded Friday. With 2,862 recoveries today, the active cases touched 37,487. So far, 92,951 people have recovered from the infection.
