Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 could be a cheaper foldable than its predecessor

Apr 08, 2020 15:02 IST

According to reports, Samsung's Galaxy Fold 2, the successor to the company's first foldable smartphone, might be brought in with a base 256GB of storage to lower prices in a bid to attract more customers. The Galaxy Fold was launched last year in a single 512GB storage variant that currently costs ₹1,73,835 in India, while the cheaper Galaxy Z Flip at ₹1,15,890 is still the company's cheapest foldable smartphone. The Fold 2 is also rumoured to sport both larger inner and outer displays along with a hole-punch notch, and could see a Q3 2020 launch. Reports claim the Z Flip is also due to get a 5G variant, that could be unveiled sometime later this year, but only in select markets.
