The Indian team management is in search for a wicketkeeper-batsman to fill in MS Dhoni's shoes. Their search seems to have ended with KL Rahul as of now, but not before trying out Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson for that role. Though Pant got ample chances to prove his mettle, but that wasn't the case with Samson. According to Samson’s coach, Biju George, the reason why Team India preferred Pant over Sanju is because of the former being a left-handed batsman. He told the Times of India that the chief selector should decide who is best suited to be in the team against an opposition but he feels that Samson should have got more chances. To be just, Samson has so far failed to impress in the limited opportunities he has got and has scored just 35 runs in the 4 T20I he has played for India.
