Nitish Kumar will take oath as the chief minister of Bihar for a fourth consecutive term at 4:30 pm today. The leaders of the National Democratic Alliance on Sunday participated in a joint meeting, where Nitish Kumar was elected as the alliance’s leader in the state.
There is however speculation over his deputy; while some reports say Sushil Kumar Modi will continue as deputy chief minister or the BJP would choose a new face. Some reports have indicated that BJP's Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi are likely to take the charge. BJP is most likely to also push for the position of Speaker of Bihar assembly.
The NDA won 125 seats in the 243-member Bihar assembly, and the BJP emerged as the dominant partner in the NDA in Bihar, winning 74 seats to ally JD(U)’s 43. But PM Modi put to rest all speculation saying, every BJP and NDA worker will work in Bihar under the leadership of Nitish Kumar.
