Aamir Khan is busy promoting his upcoming film, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan which is all set to release on August 11. The duo yesterday appeared in the fifth episode of ‘Koffee with Karan 7’.  Host Karan Johar blamed Aamir Khan that he is responsible for the loss of tonality in Bollywood. To which Aamir Khan responded, ‘There's been so much success that some of the South Industry films have offered us in terms of 'Baahubali', then 'RRR', 'KGF', and 'Pushpa' and some of our films that haven't been working. Is there a shift that's happened in our movies recently in terms of like there's a tonality that 'KGF' has or 'Pushpa' has that actually Hindi cinema used to have. We actually let go of it and you're responsible for it.’ Filmmaker Karan countered Aamir Khan and said, ‘In the year 2001 you came up with two films 'Dil Chahta Hai' and 'Lagaan', both had new sensibilities, both had a new syntax in cinema then after that you came up with a film 'Rang De Basanti' in 2006, then you made 'Taare Zameen Par' right after that, with the result you started making a certain audience and filmmakers.’ Aamir reacted, ‘No you're wrong. Those were all heartland films. Those movies had emotions. They reach the common man. It's something that you will emotionally connect to. 'Rang De Basanti' is a very emotional film. It touches the people at grassroots.’ ‘I am not saying make action films or crude films. Make good films with great stories but choose topics that are relevant to most people.’ He concluded. After these statements of Aamir Khan, the ongoing debate on the Pan India movies has also become the talk of the town again.

Ram Charan has been receiving immense praise for his performance in S S Rajamouli’s blockbuster ‘RRR’ from several celebrities in Bollywood as well as Hollywood. R Madhavan’s directorial debut, based on former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan’s life, highlights the spy scandal that changed his life forever and uncovers the truth the behind it all. The biographical drama stars Madhavan in the lead role and features special appearances by superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Suriya. 
The film released in theatres on July 1 in Hindi, Tamil, and English. 
K.G.F: Chapter 1 & 2  (2018, 2022)
The period action film, written and directed by Prashanth Neel, stars Yash and Srinidhi Shetty. It starts with journalist Anand Ingalagi's interview, whose book ‘El Dorado’ was banned by the government for detailing the events at the Kolar Gold Fields (K.G.F.) between 1951 and 2018. He is seen narrating the story of Rocky who gets involved with the gold mafia to acquire power and wealth and fulfill a promise made to his dying mother.  
Vijendra Ingalgi, son of Anand Ingalgi continues the story of KGF and Rocky in Chapter 2. 
‘K.G.F: Chapter 1’ won two awards for Best Action and Best Special Effects at the 66th National Film Awards, whereas ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’, which released on 14 April, 2022 in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, is the third highest-grossing Indian film of all time.  
'Puspha: The Rise’ (2021)
The Sukumar directorial stars Allu Arjun in the titular role along with Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna. The action drama narrates the story of Pushpa Raj, a coolie, who volunteers to smuggle rare wood red sanders that only grows in Andhra. He soon becomes the leader of the smuggling network, but a ruthless police officer Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat takes charge as SP and taunts Pushpa for his family background. 
‘Pushpa: The Rise’ released on December 17, 2021 in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi. It emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film in 2021, and ranks among the highest-grossing Telugu films of all time.

Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeep is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, ‘Vikrant Rona’ in Mumbai. Salman Khan accompanied the actor during a promotional event. 
During the event, the actors were asked to share their opinion on the North Vs South debate. Kichcha Sudeep said that one must not generalise. Giving an example, he said that many films are made in a year, out of which some do well and the rest don't but that does not mean that South Film Industry is dominating but not Hindi.  
Comparing the scenario to cricket, he said that if Virat Kohli is being out of form for a while and someone else is performing better than him would you say that he is the number one player now? 
Salman who is also a part of the promotions of the pan-India film said that he has been working with a lot of South people. Be it with Kiccha Sudeep, Prakash Raj, Prabhu Deva, and even Venkatesh whose Hindi film 'Anari' was a big hit that featured Karisma Kapoor. 
So, sometimes films work and sometimes they don't. There is no set formula ki 100 per cent yeh hi chalega," he added.
'Vikrant Rona' is scheduled to be released in theatres on 28th July, 2022.

Filmmaker Puri Jagannadh is currently busy promoting his upcoming movie 'Liger', starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday. During a recent interaction with ETimes, the director talked about the ongoing debate of north versus south Indian films. When asked why dubbed south films work in the north but not vice versa, the director revealed that Telugu audience does not prefer watching dubbed Hindi movies.
'It's absolutely right. It's not working big time actually. North people are accepting South ones. But if a Hindi film dubbed in south is not accepted by audience there. There is a set of Hindi movies that Telugu audiences prefer watching, but not specifically the dubbed ones,' he told ETimes. 
Over the past few months, South films such as 'KGF: Chapter 2', 'RRR' and 'Phuspha: The Rise' were dubbed and released in multiple languages. These films went on to witness massive box office success across the world.

Shah Rukh Khan and Vijay Sethupathi will soon share the screen space in Atlee’s ‘Jawan’. Vijay’s publicist took to Twitter and confirmed that the actor is going to be a part of the forthcoming film. The publicist further added that the actor will be playing the antagonist only in SRK’s film and not in any other Telugu projects as it is being speculated.
On Saturday, PRO tweeted, ‘This is to clarify that #VijaySethupathi sir is doing a negative role only in #ShahRukhKhan sir’s Jawan at this point and that he is not playing a negative role in any other Telugu projects as is being speculated.’ 
‘Jawan’ also stars Nayanthara in a pivotal role. The next schedule of the pan-India film will begin towards the end of August in Chennai, according to the Pinkvilla report. 
Earlier, during a live interaction with fans on Instagram, Shah Rukh Khan talked about this much-awaited film and mentioned that it is a different kind of film.
He said, ‘Too early to say. There is still a long way to go. There is not much I can tell you about Jawan except the fact that I am having a great time as an actor. And Atlee, the director, it is a different kind of film. Everybody has seen his work. He makes outstanding mass oriented films, again a genre I have never done. So, I wanted to try my hands on it. And I think me and Atlee have good chemistry. I bring in some (to the film), he brings in some. Whatever we have done of Jawan is thrilling and exciting’ 
‘Jawan’ will be releasing in 5 different languages across India on June 2, 2023.

Post this announcement, Dhanush took to Twitter on Saturday and confirmed that he will be reprising his role as Avik San aka The Lone Wolf alongside Ryan Gosling's Six. He shared an audio clip on his social media account, captioned, ‘The Gray Man universe is expanding and the sequel is coming… Lone Wolf is ready, are you?’
He also hints at the storyline for the forthcoming film in the audio clip.‘Six, this is Lone Wolf. I hear we are both looking for the same man. I want to offer you some advice. Stop looking. You are wasting your time. Because if I find him first, there will be nothing for you to look for. And if you find him first, then I will find you. Nothing personal,’ he says.
