He may be one of the greatest ODI batsmen of the modern era but Rohit Sharma is still struggling in the longest format of the game. With KL Rahul's extended lean patch, Rohit once again has an opportunity to cement his position in India's Test side. Interestingly, before 2013 the Mumbai batsman had a poor run in the middle order in ODIs as well but a promotion to the opening slot brought out the best in Rohit. Though he was out for a duck in the warm-up game against the same South African side, the team management is determined to invest their faith in him. Rohit may have a whopping average of over 85 in tests at home, the new role will be a different challenge altogether.
