BCCI has told the IPL franchises to strictly abide by the revised playing conditions, under which the teams need to complete the games within the prescribed playing hours. In a mail to all the squads, BCCI wrote that the 20th over now must finish in the 90th minute. Previously, the 20th over was to start by the 90th minute. Also, the minimum over-rate to be achieved in IPL games shall be 14.11 overs per hour. The 4th umpire will keep a check on this and can even warn the batting side if it indulges in time-wasting tactics. The team captain will be fined ₹12 lakh and ₹24 lakh for the first two offences respectively. The third offence will result in a fine of ₹30 lakh and a one-match ban.
