In a bid to study and warn parents about the causes of obesity in children, a new study has concluded that babies should be given 'less sugar and more fruits' in dietary plans. The report by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health revealed that the labels on baby foods, while they say contain no sugar, often contain sugar from other sources such as honey or fruit juice. The study suggests limiting the intake of sugar in babies to prevent obesity, and also the development of a sweet tooth. It was found that while babies prefer sweet flavours, it was better to introduce bitter tastes such as that of broccoli and spinach from an early age.
