Colgate, Sensodyne in hot water over 'clinical' claims

Apr 06, 2019 12:28 IST

Two of the most popular toothpaste brands are in hot waters as the Food Drug Administration has issued notices to them over false advertising. The branding of both Colgate and Sensodyne claim things like 'clinically proven relief', '24/7 sensitivity protection' while holding only a cosmetic licence, reports The Hindu. The FDA notice states that all toothpastes are granted a cosmetic license but in order to make these claims, these brands must obtain a medical license. Officials will soon go to court with this issue.
