It seems like Google is gearing up for a serious dive back into wearables. According to a Reuters report, its parent company Alphabet has made an offer to acquire US wearable device maker Fitbit, which tracks daily steps, calories burned and distance travelled. However, the negotiations aren’t locked down as of yet. Fitbit, meanwhile, won’t be the first deal that Google would be carrying out in the wearables space. Earlier this year, it bought $40 million worth of Fossil’s tech, as well as a portion of its R&D team.
