India on Thursday tested more than 6 lakh samples for coronavirus, which is the highest in a single day since the start of the pandemic. The health ministry on Friday said that a record of over 6 lakh samples were tested for corona virus in the last 24 hours. The ministry has stated that the aim is to raise the testing capacity to 10 lakh tests per day soon. Starting from less than 100 tests per day, India has seen a multiple fold increase in a few months. The government has adopted the test-track-treat strategy for early detection and containment of the Covid-19 pandemic.
