The apex court on Monday will hear pleas related to the new farm laws and ongoing farmer protest at Delhi borders, just days after staying the implementation of the laws. The apex court may take into account the matter of recusal of a member of the committee set up by it to hear the grievances of the farmers.
Bhupinder Singh Mann, president of Bharatiya Kisan Union had resigned from the panel saying he would always side with farmers and Punjab. Farmers had approached the court on Saturday asking it to reconstitute the committee as they did not feel the panel could submit an unbiased report when the remaining three members have already backed the new farm laws.
Centre has also filed a plea in the top court, via Delhi Police, seeking a stay on the proposed tractor march on January 26 and any other protest on Republic Day.
