The RBI has clarified that it has neither sold gold from its reserves, nor is trading in the yellow metal.
Taking to Twitter , the Central Bank clarified that the fluctuation depicted in the Weekly Statistical Supplement is due to a change in frequency of revaluation from a monthly to a weekly basis, international prices of gold and exchange rates.
The clarification came in response to a report by The Economic Times, that the Reserve Bank has been selling gold from its reserves.
