Apr 30, 2020 10:54 IST

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi interacted with noted economist and former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan to discuss the economic crisis looming over India due to the ongoing lockdown and measures to tackle the problem. To a question from Gandhi on how much will India need to help its poor population, Rajan said that "India will need a budget of ₹65,000 crore". Rajan also said that the lockdown cannot go on forever and the government must plan an exit and manage it well. Rahul Gandhi has planned a series of interactions with Indian and global thought leaders on ways to tackle the coronavirus crisis.
