State-owned Punjab National Bank on Tuesday reported a net loss of ₹4,750 crore in the fourth quarter ending on 31st March against analysts' estimates of net profit of ₹250 cr. The bank's net loss reduced considerably from the corresponding quarter last year while its net income increased as its provisions fell significantly to ₹7,611 crore. PNB also reported significant improvement in its asset quality as net NPAs fell to 6.56% from 8.22% while gross NPAs also reduced to 15.5%.
