Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh announced the extension of lockdown in Punjab till June 30th with 'certain more relaxations'. The chief minister said his government will take into account the Centre''s guidelines for lockdown 5.0. Punjab government's announcement comes as the Centre laid down the plan for phased re-opening of non containment zones in the country. Singh made the announcement after an on-ground assessment of the Covid-19 situation with health experts and cabinet members. Singh also said that the threat of the pandemic was not over, and his government would continue to take necessary steps to save the lives of people.
