Senior advocate Prashant Bhushan who was earlier on Monday slapped a fine of Re 1 or 3-months jail for contempt of court by the Supreme Court, said that he “gracefully” accepts the Supreme Court verdict in the contempt case. He tweeted stating that the Re 1 levied on him has been paid.
Addressing a press conference in Delhi, Bhushan said, this is a watershed moment for freedom of speech.
