The Lok Sabha debate on the SPG Amendment Bill was briefly disrupted on Wednesday after BJP MP Pragya Thakur likened Nathuram Godse to a patriot. When DMK MP A Raja was citing a statement by Godse on why he killed Mahatma Gandhi, Thakur shouted 'You cannot give example of a deshbhakt". Listen carefully.
Though order was restored within a few minutes, the BJP MP continued to be defiant.
This is not the first time Thakur has referred to Mahatma Gandhi's assassin as a patriot. In the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections, she had called Godse a "true patriot" during a roadshow in Madhya Pradesh but is believed to have been disciplined by Prime Minister Modi.
