Speaking in the Rajya Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the incident of mob lynching in Jharkhand, saying it had saddened him, but in the same breath added that it was unfair of the Opposition, to call the state a hub of lynching for Tabrez Ansari's death. PM Modi said, "We are all sad about the death of the mob lynching victim. Culprits should get the strictest punishment. But is it right to say that everyone in Jharkhand is responsible?."
